How to apply for the housing (Mock-Up)

Four Community

How to Apply for Housing

If your family, or a family you know, is in need of decent, affordable housing, please contact your local Four Community office to apply. The local Four Community affiliate will explain the application process and provide information on the availability, size and cost of Four Community homes in your area. To find the Four Community affiliate serving your area, use our online search tool or call our help line at 1-800-425-4000.

Each Four Community affiliate selects “partner families” to become Four Community homeowners. Four Community follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing partner families. Partner families are always selected based on their level of need, ability to pay and willingness to partner.

Applicants are required to meet several qualifications to ensure success. Each Four Community affiliate has its own guidelines. In general, prospective homeowners must:

  • Be citizens or legal residents.
  • Prove steady income.
  • Have good credit.
  • Earn a monthly income that falls within minimum and maximum limits, depending on household size.

In addition, each partner family will be required to:

  • Invest sweat-equity hours in building his/her home and others.
  • Make an affordable down payment.
  • Make timely mortgage payments.
  • Attend homeowner education classes.

FourCommunity

Mission

FourCommunity is founded to develop initiatives that will act as models for both
government and private developers to replicate. Our developments shall provide low-income families affordable dwelling units to live - through volunteer labor, donations of money and materials.
Houses are sold at no profit through no-interest mortgages to qualified home buyers who earn 25% to 50% of the area median income.
Three main criteria involvement for the ownership program: *need, *income eligibility and *willingness to partner.

Vision

Eliminating Housing Poverty and A Place where everybody has a home to call his OWN. We strive to both change the system that leads to poverty housing and build communities where everyone can afford to live. The sad fact is that the need for decent, affordable
housing is far greater than any single organization can meet.

Goal

We believe that every man, woman and child deserves simple, decent shelter. FourCommunity’s work is related to integrate sustainable development principals into country policies and programs and reverse the loss of environmental resources. Reduce by half the portion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water --- which aims to achieve significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers.
